Pusamania Borneo Beats PBR 2-0 In President Cup

Makassar (Antara Bali) - Pusamania Borneo FC soccer club defeated the Persipasi Bandung Raya (PBR) team 2-0 in the first match of group D of President Cup Tournament 2015 in Andi Mattalatta Mattoanging sports stadium here on Monday.

Both boals were scored by Pusamania's players Terens Puhiri and Jajang Mulyana respectively in the 7th and 52nd minute.

Meanwhile, PSM Makassar (host) crushed Persegres Gresik United 3-0 in the group D second match of the President Cup on Monday night.

The three goals were netted respectively by Syamsul Chaeruddin in the 26th minute, Aditya Putra Dewa in the 51st minute and Ferdinand Sinaga in 67th minute.

PSM Makassar coach Assegaf Razak stated that he was grateful over the victory because it could open up opportunities for further matches of this club.

The President Cup Tournament 2015 was opened by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) at the "I Wayan Dipta" Stadium in Gianyar, Bali, on Sunday (Aug. 30).

As many as 16 soccer clubs which are divided into four groups participate in the President Cup tournament starting Sunday, August 30.

"A total of 38 matches will be held during the tournament. Each day there will be two matches in the preliminary round, which will take place at 03.00 p.m. and 6.00 p.m.," the Mahaka Sports Director, Erik Tohir, who is organizing the event said.

Group A consists of Persib Bandung, Persebaya United, Persiba Balikpapan, and Martapura FC; and Group B comprises of Arema Cronos, PSGS Ciamis, Sriwijaya FC Palembang and Persela Lamongan.

Group C has teams Bali United, Persija Jakarta, Mitra Kukar and Persita Tangerang; while Group D has namely PSM Makassar, Pelita Bandung Raya, Peregres Gresik and Pusamania Borneo FC.

Soon after the opening ceremony in Gianyar, Bali, on Sunday afternoon, Bali United soccer club successfully crushed Persija Jakarta squad 3-0.

In the second match of the President Cup event in Bali, the East Kalimantan`s club Mitra Kukar and Persita Tanggerang shared 0-0 score. (WDY)
