Bone, S Sulawesi (Antara Bali) -- Vice President Jusuf Kalla visited his hometown in Bone district as part of his working visit to South Sulawesi province on Saturday.
He began the trip by performing Ashar prayers at Watampone Grand Mosque, which will soon be expanded for renovation.
Shortly after performing the prayers, the vice president, accompanied by his wife Mufidah, visited state elementary school SD Negeri 2 Manurunge, where he once studied, and later Athira Islamic School.
Kalla also went by his grandfather's residence in Nipah Kampoong, Mallari village, and saw the house where his father once stayed.
"This is my grandfather's house. My father lived here," he said.
Kalla arrived in Bone on Saturday at around 03.00 p.m. local time to visit his hometown and meet with the local residents at night.
Earlier, the vice president paid a working visit to Sengkang, Wajo district, to inspect the revitalization of a moveable dam.
During the visit, Kalla was accompanied by Public Works and Public Housing Minister Basuki Hadimuujono, Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman, and Governor of South Sulawesi Syahrul Yasin Limpo. (WDY)
