"We have instructed the provincial and resort police to investigate the causes of forest fires," spokesman of the National Police Inspector General Ronny Franky Sompie stated here on Friday.
The local police, in coordination with the regional administrations, have supervised and prevented the fires from occurring, he remarked.
Forest preservation is everyones responsibility, and the regional administrations can play a vital role in preventing forest fires.
The police headquarters have ordered the regional police to assist in protecting the forests and extinguishing the wild fires, Sompie added. (WDY)
