Sokaraja, C Java
(Antara Bali) - Indonesian presidential candidate Joko Widodo (Jokowi)
came clean about not wanting to promise a lot of programs to the
Indonesian people during the campaign period for the upcoming
presidential election.
"Two programs are enough. I do not want to promise a lot of
programs. Too many programs but not executed, so what to do," stated
Jokowi while campaigning in Sokaraja Market, Central Java, on Friday.
Jokowi explained his programs for the people, which included
Indonesian education programs named Indonesia Smart Card and health
programs through the Healthy Indonesia cards.
"Indonesia Smart Card can be used for school children, especially
for those coming from disadvantaged families, so they can continue their
studies at school," remarked Jokowi.
Meanwhile, he said the Healthy Indonesia Card can be used by people
who cannot afford to get healthcare as it is going to be free of cost.
During the 20-minute visit, Jokowi was accompanied by Chairman of
the National Democratic Party Akbar Faisal and Teten Masduki, the deputy
secretary of Jokowi and Jusuf Kallas winning team.
The presidential election is slated for July 9, 2014, and will be
contested by two pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates,
Prabowo Subianto-Hatta Rajasa and Jokowi-Jusuf Kalla. (WDY)
