Kupang (Antara Bali) - A Metro TV contributor for Indonesia-Timor Leste border area was killed on Sunday evening in a traffic accident on his way from Atambua to Kefamenanu.
Riding home on a motorcycle after covering an event in Atambua, Handrianus Suni (31) died when his motorcycle collided with the rear of a stationary car at kilometer-14 at about 6.30 pm local time, according to his colleague, Yudith Lorenzo said here on Monday.
Yudith is an AnTV contributor in Atambua, the border area between Belu district and Timor Leste.
He said Handrianus, the husband of Novita Andriani Naomi Monteiro who is expecting her first baby, lived in Timor Tengah Utara district town of Kefamenanu, East Nusa Tenggara.
"After covering the event in Atambua, Handrianus decided to return to Kefamenanu that evening but the traffic accident was inevitable," Yudith .
He said Handrianus was taken by several Mobile Brigade police officers to Atambua hospital where he was pronounced dead of his serious injuries.
Born in Oecusse, Timor Leste, on March 1, 1982, Handrianus joined the Metro TV in 2008 as a contributor for the border area between Indonesia and Timor Leste until his death on Sunday. (*/DWA)
