Jakarta (Antara Bali) - US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) leader William D Magwood is on a working visit to to meet with related officials in Indonesia.
"During my visit, I will meet with the research and technology minister, the chief of National Atomic Energy Agency (Batan), and the chief of Nuclear Energy Regulatory Agency of Indonesia (Bapeten)," Magwood said at Bapeten office here on Monday.
He explained that his meeting with Bapeten chief was in the framework of increasing cooperation between the Nuclear Energy Regulatory Agency of Indonesia and US NRC.
"The cooperation between Bapeten and US NRC has beeninitiated since 2002 and that we would like to continue to increase it," Magwood said.
Further, Magwood added that he would also speak in a seminar on "Nuclear Energy Safety and Surveillance" and to make a working visit to several nuclear installations and facilities.
He expressed hope that his working visit could have a positive impact on the respective countries in the nuclear energy surveillance. (*/DWA)
