Banyuwangi (Antara Bali) - South Korea's Hyundai Group wants to build an oil refinery at the Banyuwangi district in East Java Province, according to District Head Abdullah Azwar Anas.
"The company will soon send 50 oil experts to conduct a feasibility study in Banyuwangi," Anas said here on Sunday, adding that the experts would come to Banyuwangi at the end of this month.
Appointed as the Banyuwangi district head in October 2010, Anas said he wanted to develop the district in various fields.
He noted that besides the South Korean company, another investor from Singapore had been permitted by the Capital Investment Coordinating Board to set up a car assembly plant in Banyuwangi.
"Another investor from the United States will build a bead factory in Banyuwangi and the products will be exported to the country," Anas added.(IGT)
