Surabaya (Antara Bali) - Public Policy analyst Ichsanudin Noersy said that Indonesia up to now was still bowing to the free market mechanism so far voiced by western countries like the United States.
"I wish to read (data), not just talk without data," Noersy said in a discussion on the liberalization of oil and gas here on Sunday.
He said that he so far had studied the government policies and found that its plan to raise fuel oil prices was related to the interference of foreign countries, such as the United States.
"There was an order through a radiogram which said there were directives asking the revision of Oil and Gas Ministry Law," he said.
Besides, there is also an effort from foreign countries to reduce the role of Indonesia in the oil and gas sector and to increase the private sector's roles.
"They were rather astute in colonizing Indonesia. They even tried to partner with private business, non-government organization and the mass media. The direct cash assistance provided for the public in the face of oil price hikes is actually 'a political pribee" he said.(*/M038/T007)
