Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Komaidi Notonegoro, an energy observer from the ReforMiner Institute, has said he really admired the cooperation between state oil company PT Pertamina and Japan's energy company Osaka Gas.
"Not all companies have the opportunity to cooperate with Osaka Gas, which is not easy to choose as a partner to cooperate with. Osaka Gas is very selective and tends to be independent. That is why this cooperation can be an additional positive note for Pertamina," Notonegoro remarked here Saturday.
The cooperation with Osaka Gas can be evidence of the credibility of Pertamina in managing gas in the country, the ReforMiner Institute's executive director noted.
This cooperation is very good, because in the next couple of years, gas will be used in place of fuel oil that will run out sooner or later, according to him.
Therefore, Pertamina should optimally use such a cooperation to add to its experience in the international community, Notonegoro said.
Through the cooperation, Pertamina will get the value of international gas management and Good Corporate Governance (GCG), he said.
The cooperation between Osaka Gas and Pertamina could also be an objective assessment for the government in determining who will be chosen as an aggregator of gas, Notonegoro notet. (WDY)
