Jakarta (Antara Bali) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will lead the Heroes' Day commemoration service at the Tugu Pahlawan here on Tuesday (November 10, 2015) as part of his working visit to East Java.
The President and First Lady Iriana Jokowi left for Surabaya on Monday from the Halim Air Force Base in Jakarta.
It is the first time that the Heroes' Day commemoration ceremony is being held in Surabaya and will be led by the President, according to the presidential communication team.
After leading the Heroes' Day ceremony, the President will visit Shipyard PT Adi Sarana Segara Indonesia (ALSSI) in Bangkalan, Madura.
On several occasions during his visits to various regions, the President took the opportunity to observe the shipbuilding industry.
In addition, the President is also expected to inaugurate Special Boat for Livestock Transportation in Bangkalan.
Later, the President is scheduled to visit Malang to open the General Sudirman Cup Football Tournament.
As many as 15 soccer clubs will participate in the soccer event starting November 10.
Earlier, the CEO of the Mahaka Sport and Entertainment, Hasani Abdulgani, said here on Friday that the tournament will take place in three cities, namely Malang, Surabaya and Bali.
Group A (to be played in Malang) consists of Arema Cronus, Sriwijaya FC, Persija Jakarta, Persipasi Bandung Raya and Persegres Gresik United.
Group B (to be played in Bali) consists of Bali United, Mitra Kukar, PSM Makassar, Persipura and Semen Padang.
Meanwhile, Group C (to take place in Surabaya) consists of Surabaya United, Persib Bandung, Pusamania Borneo FC, Persela Lamongan and PS TNI (Military).
The Mahaka Sports and Entertainment, which is organizing the General Sudirman cup event to last until January 24, 2016, has also offered a cash prize of Rp2.5 billion for the champion. (WDY)
