Jakarta (Antara Bali) - President Joko Widodo officially opened the 2015 Indonesia Banking Expo (IBEX) at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), on Wednesday.
"They should work hard to expand banking outreach in the country," the National Banks Association (Perbanas) Chairman Sigit Pramono stated here on Wednesday.
The president was wearing a batik shirt when he arrived at the JCC at around 10:55 a.m. local time.
The expo is being held at the JCC, Jakarta, on September 9-11.
The event aims to unlock the insights of the industry and regulators to formulate concrete steps as a part of the efforts to increase the readiness of the national banking sector in supporting the people's welfare.
The 2015 IBEX is themed "Digital Banking Development in Expanding Access to Finance and Service to the Community."
The exhibition was also attended by the Financial Services Authority (OJK) Chairman Muliaman D. Hadad, Bank Indonesia (BI) Governor Agus Martowardojo, Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Deposit Insurance Agency (LPS) C. Budiargo, and bank directors.
The president, in the company of Perbanas Chairman Pramono, visited the exhibition booths. (WDY)
