Semarang, C Java (Antara Bali) - Indonesia looks set to bring home two titles of the Yonex Sunrise Vietnam GP Open after its shuttlers moved to all-Indonesian finals in mixed doubles and women's doubles events.
In the mixed doubles event, Muhammad Rijal/Vita Marissa duo which is ranked first in the tournament will take on second-seeded Irfan Fadhilah/Weni Anggraini, according to tournamentsoftware website monitored on Saturday.
Muhammad Rijal/Vita Marissa moved to the finals after seeing off their compatriots, Ronald Alexander/Melati Daeva Oktaviani, with a 21-11,12-18 win, while Irfan Fadhilah/Weni Anggraini trashed their senior compatriots, Fran Kurniawan/Shendy Puspa Irawati in a straight set 21-19,21-19.
In the women's doubles event, Gebby Ristiyani Imawan/Ni Ketut Mahadewi Istirani will play against Mareta Dea Geovani/Rosyita Eka Putri Sari.
Gebby Ristiyani Imawan/Mahadewi Istiyani advanced to the finals after outclassing Chiang Kai Hsin/Hung Shih Han of Taiwan 21-13,21-17 in the semifinal encounter.
They will meet Mareta Dea Geovani/Rasyita Eka Putri Sari who entered the finals after beating host Nguyen Thi Sen/Vu Thi Trang in a straight set 21-19,21-14.
Indonesia also has a chance of taking home another title of the tournament which offers a total prize of US$50 thousand after its men's singles player Dionysius Hayom Rumbaka and men's doubles players Andrei Adistia/Hendra Aprida Gunawan have secured a place in the finals. (WDY)
