Jayapura (Antara Bali) - Indonesian Consul in Vanimo, Papua New Guinea (PNG) Jahar Gultom said PNG Defense Force (PNGDF) would investigate shooting incident against Indonesian national committed by the PNG military personnel.
The PNG Defense Force told the Indonesian consul during their meeting in the PNG's province of Sandaun that PNGDF would conduct thorough investigation against the shooting case, Gultom told Antara through his cellular phone on SaturdayÂ
Antara learned that the incident occurred when Meki Aritahanu (50 th) Edward and Irene Yoku (15 th) from Jayapura were on their way to Lido village by motorboat to meet their relatives (PNG's citizens).
When the three Indonesians were still in the boat, five PNG's military personnel using Land Cruiser car directly shot the Jayapura's residents which injured Edward and hit the boat.
The shooting incident occurred on Wednesday (May 8), when the three Jayapura's residents were in their boat in Lido's waters, the consul said. (IGT)
