Minister Considers State Firms to Manage Cannabis Farm

Jakarta (Antara Bali) - State Enterprises Minister Dahlan Iskan said he was considering the possibility of state-owned enterprises to manage cannabis farmland for health affairs aimed at using the cannabis seeds for curing cancer and heart diseases.

"This was proposed by a pharmacist that cannabis seeds can be used as heart and cancer medication. I learn the idea after being provoked," said Dahlan, here Tuesday.

Dahlan disclosed his interest to learn about the cannabis farmland for medical purpose after receiving a pharmacist last week.

According to him, the pharmacist briefly described about the technical use of cannabis seeds  as raw material of medicines.

"It is a logical thing in the pharmaceutical point of view, so I asked the pharmacist to prepare references of the cannabis seeds use as medical treatment," the minister said. (IGT)
