Jakarta (Antara Bali) - A task force team of the attorney general office has arrested regent of Aru Islands of Maluku Theddy Tengko, who has been convicted of corruption.
Theddy has been a law fugitive after he was sentenced to a four year's imprisonment in April this year.
He was found guilty in corruption case involving Rp42.5 billion in state fund in 2006-2007, attorney general spokesman Setia Untung Arimuladi said.
He was arrested at a hotel in Jakarta on Wednesday, Setia added.
He said Theddy tried to resist arrest but he was easily overpowered by the intelligence officers of the task force. (IGT/T007)
