Tasikmalaya (Antara Bali) - A cliff landslide has created havoc on Cigalontang road in West Java district of Tasikmalaya, by cutting off access between West Java district and Tasikmalaya district, said the sub district police chief.
"The landslide that occurred on Sunday (night) hampered the movement of cars and motorcycles and prevented them from passing through Cigalontang road," said the Cigalontang sub district police chief, Adjunct Commissioner Idan Wahyudin, on Monday.
According to him, the 15 meter long and 20 meter wide avalanche covered the road in the Pusparaja village of Tasikmalaya district.
Wahyudin said that the police has reported the landslide to the related agency of the local administration, so that they can remove the avalanche.
In the meantime, on November 16, a woman was buried alive in a landslide in North Sumatra's island of Nias.
Ina Algeano, 42, was buried alive in a landslide in the village of Amandraya , in South Nias, on Sunday, said Ahmad Hidayat Nasution, head of the North Sumatra Natural Disaster Control Agency, on Friday.(*/DWA)
