Medan (Antara Bali) - State gas firm PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) plans to invest in a number of upstream projects next year to ensure gas supplies.
"We are supposed to realize the plan this year but we can't. Hopefully, the plan could be realized in 2013," PGN Vice President for Corporate Communication Ridha Ababil said on Tuesday.
Ababil said a shortage of gas supplies has made it difficult for PGN to meet rising demand from its customers.
Therefore, he added the company decided to reduce its dependence on gas suppliers by investing in a number of gas drilling projects.
Meanwhile, Mugiono, general manager of PGN strategic business unit for North Sumatra, Riau and Batam said gas demand in the region continues to increase every year.(IGT)
