Bangli, Bali (ANTARA) - Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini (Risma), on Monday emphasized the importance of anticipatory measures in mitigating disasters that can cause casualties.
"Not only to see the condition but also to map how to anticipate so that there would be no victims," she said while meeting victims of the 4.8-magnitude earthquake that struck Trunyan village, Bangli district, Bali on Saturday.
During her visit, she met quake victims at the Bangli General Hospital and in Trunyan village, Bangli district, as well as Ban village in Karangasem district.
She said she conversed with Trunyan villagers about their request for boat procurement for evacuations in case landslides happen again and destroy road access in and out of the village.

She assured them that the ministry would help provide boats and tents at locations chosen by the village government. The tents are meant for providing safe shelter against rain or other disasters, Risma highlighted.
"The logistics are ready, and they have no problem today. We have to anticipate so that there would be no more victims," she affirmed.
The affected communities have been evacuated to other areas of the village and the injured have been taken to hospital, Trunyan Village Consultative Agency (BPD) head, I Made Warjaya, informed.
However, road access to the village, which is located on the shore of Lake Batur, has remained cut off since the landslides struck on Saturday, he said.
"The government has conducted various efforts, including carrying heavy equipment, but we are still hindered by the situations," Warjaya added.
During her visit, Rismaharini distributed assistance such as packages of food for children, blankets, mattresses, and foldable tents, with the total logistical assistance valued at Rp248,189,122.

The minister also handed over beneficiary compensation of Rp15 million each for two victims who died in Bangli and Rp5 million each for three people who sustained severe injuries.
Moreover, in Karangasem district, beneficiary compensation was provided for one person who died in the quake and three persons who were severely injured. Meanwhile, three people who sustained minor injuries were provided Rp2 million.
The total value of compensation dispensed in the two areas amounted to Rp81 million, the ministry said. Thus, the total assistance, provided both in the form of logistical assistance and compensation, amounted to Rp329,189,122, it added.
