Jakarta (Antara Bali) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono appointed Nafsiah Mboi to replace late Endang Rahayu Sedyaningsih as the new health minister on Thursday morning.
Nafsiah Mboi took oath before the United Indonesia Cabinet ministers at the State Palace.
Earlier at Bogor Palace, President Yudhoyono announced Nafsiah was the candidate for health minister until 2014.
When asked about the reason for his choice, the head of state explained: "I have seen her past experience and dedication, including her commitment to improving and maintaining public health."
The President also swore in Professor Rudi Rubiandini, of Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), to replace late Widjajono Partowidagdo as the deputy minister of energy and mineral resources.(IGT)
