Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) deputy chairman Asrorun Ni'am Sholeh has called on the government to immediately restrict the sale of condoms in the country.
"Condoms are halal products, but their sale must be restricted to prevent them from being misused by children," he said here on Wednesday.
Ni'um urged the government to restrict the sale of condoms because their circulation in various areas and cities was getting out of hand.
He noted in Bogor city, for example, condoms were easily available at kiosks and mini-markets.
According to Ni'um, such unrestricted sale of condoms would enable anyone, including children, to buy and use them to engage in free sexual activity.(IGT)
