"We exported 10 of the traditional houses to the two countries, worth US$200,855," head of the Local Trade and Industry Office Sanny Parengkuan said here on Saturday.
Sanny noted that two units, type 350 and type 175, were exported to the UAE, with a total price of US$67,519, while eight units were exported to Tanzania at a price of US$133,336. Those exported to Tanzania were 8mx11m in size, he added.
"The demand for North Sulawesi's traditional stilt houses by overseas consumers is a positive development amid the government's efforts to promote houses of that type in foreign countries," an official in the regional trade office said.(*/T007)
