Chairman of the HPN Organizing Committee Margiono, who is also chairman of the Indonesian Journalists' Association (PWI), said at the presidential office here on Monday that the press certification declaration was part of the HPN activities.
"The Press Council will later announce the certification program for journalists. The certification will be implemented through competency tests coordinated by the Press Council," he said.
Currently, there are about 1,000 journalists who have been certified, and the number is expected to increase, he noted.
The certification program is aimed at improving the quality of journalists, he explained.(IGT)
