Denpasar (Antara Bali) - Bali earned US$28.26 million from exports of tuna fish in in the first five months of this year, down slightly from US$28.36 million in the same period last year.
Official data at the regional industry and trade office said on Monday the export earning decline despite a sharp increase in volume.
Bali exports 7,189.8 tons of fresh and frozen tuna in the January-May period up from 5,114.2 tons in the same period last year.
Tuna fish accounted for 13.14 percent of Bali's total export earning of US$215.04 million in the five months period.
Tuna fish is the main exports commodity of fishery and marine products from Bali.
Tuna fishes are exported mainly to Japan, followed by the United States, Thailand, Singapore and Australia, and Europe. (WDY)
