Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Vice President M Jusuf Kalla will attend a summit of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) in Lima, Peru, from November 17 to 25, 2016.
The Vice President and his entourage departed to Lima from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, eastern Jakarta, on Thursday morning, by Boeing Business Jet (BBJ) 2 presidential plane.
Members of the entourage include his spouse Mufidah Jusuf Kalla, Industry Minister Airlangga Hartato, Head of the Vice Presidential Secretariat Mohamad Oemar, Special Staff of the Vice President in charge of Infrastructure and Investment Muhammad Abduh, and member of the Vice President's Expert Team Sofjan Wanandi.
Kalla is expected to arrive in Lima on Friday, after making transits in Guam, Honolulu and Acapulco, with a total travel time of 25 hours 44 minutes.
Prior to the APEC Summit, Kalla will hold a bilateral meeting with Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang and Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea Peter O'Neill.
On Saturday, Kalla will attend the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) Dialogue, and Second Informal Dialogue with the Pacific Alliance, and will hold an informal dialogue with the CEO of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg at Grand National Theater.
In the evening, he will join a banquet to be hosted by the President of Peru Pedro Pablo Kuczynski.
On Sunday, Kalla will participate in the 24th APEC's Economic Leader Meeting (AELM) themed "Quality Growth and Human Capital Development: Foundations for Sustainable Growth in The Asia-Pacific."
He will also join the First APEC Leaders' Retreat "Challenges to Free Trade and Investment in The Current Global Context," Second APEC Leaders' Retreat "Food Security, Climate Change Adaptation and Access to Water," and "Integrating The Asia-Pacific: Towards A Real and Functional Connectivity in The Region," and finally the adoption of The 24th APEC Leaders' Declaration.
"The 2016 APEC Leaders' Summit will contribute to strengthening the relationship between Peru and Asia and discussing the global economic situation," Pablo Kuczynski said recently. (WDY)
