Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Tun Raak are scheduled to meet for the 11th Annual Consultation in Jakarta on Monday, according to a press statement from Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur to Antara here on Sunday.
It said Jokowi and Razak will discuss numerous bilateral issues, including economic cooperation.
"President Jokowi and Prime Minister Razak will discuss numerous main issues to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries. Issues to be discussed are among other things related to boarder matters, regional security, trade and economic cooperation, and migrant workers protection," the press statement said.
The Annual Consultation meeting is a bilateral mechanism between Indonesia and Malaysia at the heads of government level.
The Annual Consultation is the reflection of high intensity and the dynamics of the two countries bilateral relations, and various problems arising in the bilateral relations are expected to be addressed for the sake of the two countries' progress through the Annual Consultation.
The main mechanism in the Annual Consultation is supported with the foreign ministerial meeting in the "Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation" (JCBC) forum.
The 15th JCBC between Indonesia and Malaysian will be held in the second half of 2017.
In addition, Indonesia will host the 12th World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF) in Jakarta on August 2-4, 2016. (WDY)
