Although the European economy has not fully recovered, the number of European tourists visiting Bali increased thanks to the special attractiveness of the island, tourism observer Made Sudana said on Sunday.
The rising number of tourist arrivals from Europe was also the result of tourism promotion launched by the government in cooperation with tourism operators, he said.
The number of tourist arrivals from Europe to Bali increased to 68,219 in February from 67,026 in January, he said quoting data from the local tourism office.
The data show the number of British tourists visiting Bali increased 45.54 percent.
"That is what has encouraged the Bali tourism industry. While the economy has shown no signs of conducive growth, more and more tourists from the United Kingdom visited Bali," he said.
A total of 27,032 British tourists visited Bali in the first two months of 2016 compared to 18,574 in the same period last year.
This was followed by Germany with 14,655 tourists compared to 11,005 in the same period last year and the Netherlands with 12,756 tourists compared to 12,284 in the same period last year.
