"The OIC was set up to help Palestine so the OIC should be part of the Palestinian solution. If, its not, the OICs existence will no longer be relevant. Once again, not relevant," President Jokowi said in his opening address at the Fifth Extraordinary Summit of the OIC, here, Monday.
Jokowi stated that Indonesia is always committed to supporting the independence of Palestine by producing concrete measures.
"The limit of the international communitys tolerance has ended long time ago. Israel must immediately stop the illegal occupation over Palestine and its aggression," the president affirmed.
He also called on the United Nations to support the two-state solution to the Palestinian and Israeli problem.
President Jokowi chaired the Summit on Palestine and Al Quds Al Sharif (Jerusalem) which is expected to produce two documents, namely a Resolution and Jakarta Declaration.
Held on March 6 and 7, the extraordinary meetings theme is "United for A Just Solution."
Over 500 delegates from 49 member countries of the OIC, two observer countries, five representatives of the UN Security Councils permanent members, and a UN special envoy to the Quarter on the Middle East, are attending the summit.(WDY)
