Temanggung, C Java (Antara Bali) - Twenty-one Malaysian athletes are participating in the 2015 national cycling competition, dubbed LCC Series 19, the chairman of the event organizing committee, Adi Kurniawan, said here on Saturday.
These are among a total of 174 athletes, from 57 clubs, who are participating in the cycling competition. Two of the clubs are from Malaysia, Kurniawan pointed out.
"The 174 athletes included Men Elite 47, Men Junior 32, Men Youth 58, Women Elite 10, Women Junior 9, and Women Youth 18," he said, adding that the national cycling competition is being held from December 11 to 13, 2015.
The games are: Individual Time Trial (ITT), Individual Road Race (IRR), and criterium cycling.
Kurniawan further said the Individual Time Trial contest was held on Friday (Dec 11), starting from Wonokerso Village, Tembarak sub-district and finishing in Kemloko Village, Selopampang sub-district.
The IRR and criterium started and finished in Alun-Alun Temanggung.
According to him, in the Individual Time Trial in the Men Elite class, Kurniawan from SAKB Cycling Team emerged champion, followed by Abdul Soleh from SAKB Cycling Team as the runner-up, and Robin Manulang in the third place.
Jamal Hibatullah from KFC Bike Team was the winner in the Men Junior class, followed by Maulana Fahrizal Kurniawan from Advan CCC Jakarta, and Muhsin Al Redha from Selangor Team Malaysia in the third place.
Additionally, Ahmad Yoga Ilham Firdaus from Sinar Cycling Club Bekasi emerged the champion, Terry Yudha Kusuma of Advan CCC Jakarta as runner-up, and Muhammad Firdaus of Selangor Team Malaysia followed in the third spot.
In the meantime, Rohidah of Advan CCC Jakarta won the Women Elite class, Riska Agustin of Milagro Indonesia followed as the runner-up, and Azizah Farchana of Advan CCC Jakarta bagged the third place.
In the Women Junior class, Nur Aisyah of Terengganu Team Malaysia was champion, Ayustina Delia Priatna of Milagro Indonesia was the runner up, and Crismonita Dwi Putri followed in the third place.
In the Women Youth class, Liontin Evangelina Setiawan of Milagro Indonesia emerged champion, Nurul Izzah from Junior High School SMPN 18 Surabaya emerged runner up, and Ni'mal Magfiroh of Advan CCC Jakarta followed in the third place. (WDY)
