Jakarta (Antara Bali) -- The government and people of Indonesia condemn the terrorist attacks that struck Kuwait, Tunisia, and France on Friday, killing 51 people and injuring dozens of civilians.
Director of Citizens and Legal Entities Protection of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Lalu Muhammad Iqbal said here on Saturday that the states embassies in the three countries had reported that no Indonesians were affected by the incidents.
The Indonesian government offered its deep condolences and sympathies to the governments of Kuwait, Tunisia, and France and to the relatives of the victims.
On Friday, a suicide bombing after a prayer at Imam Al-Sadiq Mosque in Kuwait City killed 13 people and injured several others.
Earlier, Secretary General of the OIC Iyad Ameen Madani had said in a statement that in addition to causing numerous deaths and inflicting injuries on several innocent worshipers, the attack in Kuwait also targeted the security and stability of the city and its society.
In Tunis, a bomb blast at the Riu Imperial Marhaba Hotel in Port El Kantaoui killed 39 tourists and injured dozens others.
The incident on Friday was the second deadly terrorist attack in Tunisia this year. Earlier, in March, a terrorist had shot dead 22 tourists at Bardo National Museum.
Moreover, chemical plant "Air Product" in southern France was attacked on Friday, as well. One person was killed and two others were injured.
Indonesia believes that the occurrence of the terrorist attacks in the three countries on the same day is a global threat that goes beyond the borders of the targeted nations.
Therefore, the Indonesian government reaffirmed its supports for the international community to combat radical groups together.
The government also warned Indonesian nationals abroad to stay alert and safe by avoiding places that may be targeted and by not getting involved with any radical group.
