Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Former supreme court justice Benjamin
Mangkoedilaga passed away at the age of 78 here on Thursday and will be
buried at the Al-Azhar Memorial Garden after Friday prayer.
"He (Benjamin) died due to cardiac disease," Royono R. Murad
(Benjamins colleague) of TEMPO.CO, quoted Royono R. Murad as saying.
Banjamin served as supreme court justice for two years (from 2000 to 2002).
He began his career from 1962-1967 as an Assistant to Lecturer of University of Indonesia.
From 1967 to 1974, Benjamin served as a Judge of Rangkas Bitung
(Now Banten province). He then became Denpasar District court judge and
North Jakarta respectively (1974-1979) and (1979-1982).
He was then appointed vice chairman of Bale Bandung District Court
(1982-1987), Chairman of the Cianjur district court (1987-1991), and
chairman of Surabaya state Administrative Court (1991-1993).
After that, he was assigned to become the judge at the State
Administrative High Court (PTUN) in Medan (1996-1998), North Sumatra,
and PTUN Jakarta (1998-1999) and the judge of the Jakarta
State Administrative High Court.
Banjamin was survived by his wife Roosliana, and two children Mada Dewi Yustika and Mada Dies Natalia.(WDY)
