Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Sudirman Said has stated the future development of energy in Indonesia will be making alternative energy main national energy resources.
"At this time alternative energy is considered additional energy. We have to change this view, and make alternative energy main energy," Sudirman said here Thursday.
In addition, he called on all officials to frequently campaign for the use of renewable energy.
"We already have the regulation, and even the law. However, we should strengthen the law enforcement," he added.
The minister asked the Directorate General for Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation to make a breakthrough in promoting the use of renewable energy within the next five years.
He hoped the renewable energy will meet 25 percent of the national energy needs by 2025.
Currently, the ministry needs many energy managerial employees to carry out supervision and management of buildings and industrial facilities. "We need 1,500 energy managers to manage buildings, factories, and other facilities," Sudirman said. (WDY)
