Jakarta (Antara Bali) - The Indonesian chapter of Women in Global Business was launched in Jakarta on Tuesday, the Australian Embassy in Jakarta said on its official website.
It said that businesses owned and operated by women are one of the fastest growing business sectors.
This international program supports more businesswomen to take their products and services to the world. For women in business it offers a central source of information and resources, support and connection.
Australian Ambassador to Indonesia, Paul Grigson launched the new chapter, and spoke along with other accomplished Indonesian and Australian women entrepreneurs and role models. Ambassador Grigson said he was proud to launch the first chapter outside Australia.
"Women in Global Business Indonesia will provide women entrepreneurs a safe and secure international business network. Women are key drivers of economic growth in Indonesia and this program will empower many to start their own businesses or expand them into international markets," he said.
The program includes mentoring programs to build vital skills and networks, workshops and events, research into the barriers and motivations of women engaged with international markets, and advocacy on the domestic and international stage.
Sponsored globally by ANZ, the event provided a platform for women entrepreneurs to learn about expanding their businesses through an open forum. Attendees were also able to strengthen networks and identify potential business partners and collaboration initiatives. (WDY)
