"A country's progress is determined by the quality of its people. Therefore, the role of family as a place to build a man's character is very important," Boediono said in the commemoration of the 20th National Family Day held in Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi, Saturday.
He said, however, that a number of families are still facing problems such poverty, lack of access to education and health services, and family disharmony.
"If we want to see our nation in progress and I am sure we want that, we must work hard to deal with many family problems," he said. (M038)
