Bandarlampung (Antara Bali) - The occupancy rates of hotels in the province of Lampung fell to 47.42 percent by December 2012 from 48.16 percent in the previous month.
An executive of the Lampung office of the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) Dody Gunawan Yusuf said the occupancy of star rated hotels fell 6.82 percentage points from 62.84 percent.
In Bandarlampung the occupancy rates of star rated hotels was recorded at 56.02 percent in December down from 62.79 percent in November, Dody said.
He said the occupancy rates of non star rated hotels rose 1.97 percentage points to 43.80 percent.
The number of hotel guests both star and non star rated hotels reached 102,496 consisting of 1,728 foreigners and 100,768 Indonesians or an increase 8.58 percent from 94,395.
In December, the number of guests of star rated hotels totaled 16,988 in December including 1,662 foreign guests. The total number rose 2.60 percent from November's 16,558 guests.
Dody said one-, two- and three-star hotels all recorded an increase in the number of guests both foreign and domestic guests.
The number of guests of non-star hotels totaled 85,508 people in December including 66 foreign guests and 85,442 domestic guests, up from November's total of 64,103 guests.
"All hotels recorded an increase in the number of guests both foreign and domestic guests," Dody said. (*/T007)
