Jakarta (Antara Bali) - State Enterprises Minister Dahlan Iskan left the Singapore General Hospital on Wednesday as his conditions had improved after intensive treatment there for three days.
"Today I will go home," he said to ANTARA through a short message service on Wednesday. He said the doctors in the hospital had asked him to take a rest for three days but he had chosen to go home because he felt his stamina had improved.
The energetic minister who is overseeing 141 state-owned companies was taken to Singapore General Hospital on Sunday. He had been considered neglecting the influenza that he suffered from for 10 days without any medication.
Any minor disease has the potential to threaten his life following his heart transplant in August 2007. "I am considered being careless for letting the flu to go untreated for 10 days. Now I am forced to take a rest for three days until today or tomorrow," he said.
Because of the flu his throat suffered an infection making him to cough and suffer a fever. He has now recovered but still took vitamins.
Dahlan admitted that it all began when he conducted a small hajj early in August. Before leaving for Mecca and touring Jerusalem and Bagdad he said he was not injected with an anti-meningitis vaccine like other pilgrims making his health conditions to drop.(*/T007)
