The event was attended by among others Inspector General Andha Fauzie Miraza representing Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Minister Sharif C Sutardjo, and Indonesian Ambassador to South Korea Nicholas Tandi Damen, the ministry said in a press statement.
The Expo 2012 is being organized from May 12 to August 12, 2012 under a theme of "The Living Ocean and Coast: Diversity of Resources and Sustainable Activities" and a sub-themes of "Coastal Development and Preservation, New Resource Technology, and Creative Maritime Activities."
The theme of Indonesia's pavilion at the expo is "Wonderful Indonesia: Sustaining Tropical Diversity".
Indonesia has restated its commitment to "Blue Economy", which is a new economic development policy placing the maritime resource as the mainstream of the national economic development.(IGT/T007)
