Jakarta (Antara Bali)- President Joko Widodo, here on Monday, paid his last respects to vice admiral Arie H Sembiring, deputy naval chief of staff, who passed away at Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital on Sunday evening.
The Head of State arrived at the house of mourning located on Cut Meutia road, Central Jakarta, at 10 a.m. local time.
Jokowi was accompanied by Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Chief of the Indonesian Defense Forces (TNI) General Gatot Nurmantyo, and Naval Chief of Staff Admiral Ade Supandi.
The President expressed his deepest condolences to the wife and mother of Sembiring.
Sembiring is survived by a wife and three children. His previous post included commander of the Eastern Indonesian Naval Fleet. (WDY)
