Denpasar (Antara Bali) - Around 25 art teachers from Thailand are visiting the Indonesia Arts Institute (ISI) here on Monday to observe teaching and learning methods in the institute.
"ISI rector Prof Dr I Wayan Rai received them and served his guests with Balinese traditional foods," ISI spokesperson Ni Ketut Dewi Yulianti said here on Monday.
The Thai teachers were also entertained with a Balinese traditional "gambus" dance music show which has recently been revitalized.
One of the instruments in the show was a large bamboo flute called "gambuh", after which the show is named.
Prof Rai explained the role of the musical instrument in the show.
"It takes a long inhaling exercise in order to be able to play the instrument," she said.(IGT)
