Jayapura (Antara Bali) - President Joko Widodo is scheduled to ground-break the construction of Mama-mama traditional market in Jayapura, Saturday, in a bid to support local economic development.
"President Jokowi's agenda in Papua on Saturday is to ground-break the construction of Mama-mama traditional market," according to Presidential Communication Team Ari Dwipayana.
The ground-breaking of Mama-mama market by the president is the second of its kind in Papua after the first one for Prahaa market in Sentani on December 27, 2014.
Mama-mama market is to be built on around 4-thousand-square meter plot of land in the center of Jayapura city, the capital of Papua province.
After the ground-breaking ceremony, President Jokowi and First Lady Iriana will make their way to Depare port in Jayapura district to review the harbor, before returning to Jakarta.
The president is expected to arrive at Halim Perdanakusuma airport in Jakarta on Saturday evening. (WDY)
