Jayapura, Papua (Antara Bali) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is expected to visit Papua at the end of this month to review the progress in development and to meet local officials in the province.
"President Jokowi is expected to visit Papua at the end of this month, possibly on December 29, 2015," Lenis Kogoya, the presidential special staff, stated here on Wednesday.
He noted that President Jokowi will inaugurate an exemplary house for Papuan natives in Jayapura Regency before visiting Mama-Mama at the Youtefa Market and will also visit Marauke.
The president will listen to the aspirations of the local tribal chiefs and traders to accelerate development in Papua.
"I will do my best to bring together the president and Papua Governor Lukas Enembe in a meeting to discuss the development of the Mama-Mama Market in Jayapura City. The funds for the development of the market have already been made available," Kogoya remarked.(WDY)
