"The team of 12 volunteers from the PMI chapter in Bali will leave for Yogyakarta this evening," Taufan K, spokesman of the PMI chapter in Bali, said on Thursday.
The volunteers were among other specialists in first aid, restoring family link, assessment, psychology support program, relief distribution, logistics and makeshift kitchen while the others were medical workers, he said.
"While in affected areas, they will join with other teams of volunteers under the coordination of the PMI head office," he said.
The PMI chapter in Bali earlier sent four volunteers to carry out humanitarian tasks in affected areas, he said.
"In addition, it also sent two teams of volunteers to Wasior, Papua. Each of the teams consisted of six volunteers who had earlier been trained to face natural disasters," he said.
While in Wasior, the volunteers provided psychology support program to affected children, he said.
"Our volunteers in Wasior were very much engaged in restoring the psychological condition of victims of flash floods that swept the area early in October," he said.(*)
