Jakarta (Antara Bali) - The Indonesian National Narcotics Agency (BNN) is expecting to rehab at least 100,000 drug users during 2015 to prevent high levels of addiction.
"The target of rehabilitation will be increased every year according to the direction of the President," head of BNN Anang Iskandar said here Tuesday.
He said BNN is running the rehabilitation programs for the drug users and addicts as a healing process in accordance with Law No. 35 of 2009 on narcotics that mandates drug users are entitled to rehabilitation.
The drug addicts rehabilitation program requires high state budget. "So we have to seize the assets of the drug criminals," Iskandar said.
One solution to confiscate the assets of drug dealers is to implement Law No. 8 of 2010 on Money Laundering.
Iskandar stated that the law enforcement officers must have courage in the legal process and improve cooperation among relevant agencies and the world community to combat drugs.
Regarding the drug emergency condition, Iskandar said that all the interested agencies must work together to fight against the illicit goods.
Among others, is to promote preventive, preemptive and repressive measures against drug trafficking. (WDY)
