Jakarta (Antara Bali) - About 15,000 people in Jakarta do the hike to prevent osteoporosis in the peak of the National Osteoporosis Day 2014 at Monas, Jakarta, on Sunday.
"Indonesian Osteoporosis Association (Perosi) in collaboration with Fonterra Brands Indonesia has conducted various activities of prevention of osteoporosis since more than 10 years ago," said Chairman Dr. Nicolaas Budhiparama Perosi SpOT-K.
One of its efforts is to introduce osteoporosis prevention exercise I and II.
Nicolaas describes the exercise as a form of physical activity, which is expected to maintain and increase the strength and density if done properly,
"The most important addition to osteoporosis is a balanced nutritional intake, meet the nutritional needs of calcium and bone are sufficient at all ages, it could be the fulfillment of calcium high calcium milk consumption," he added.
Osteoporosis is a bone disease characterized by decreased bone mass, which the bones become thin, brittle and easily broken.
"Exposure to sunlight in the morning also helps prevent osteoporosis," he said.
Healthy Bones Society Indonesian citizen (Perwatusi), Anita Hutagulung, said Perwatusi focus to mobilize communities directly variety of programs, one of them is the empowerment of Jakarta PKK cadres in 41 sub-districts and villages,
"This activity is a form of implementation and commitment to Jakarta Free Osteoporosis. The point is to move the entire party for the prevention of osteoporosis," said Anita.
Fonterra Brands Indonesia President Director Paul Richard, said it through trademark Anlene Indonesia consistently educating people about the importance of early prevention of osteoporosis. (MFD)
