Jakarta (Antara Bali) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said he joined the international forums in effort to know the direction of global economic development and conveyed the national interest and that of the developing countries.
"Thus, we should know the direction of the global economic development. Although, finally the national interest should come first, but we should know the direction of the wind," Jokowi said on his way home by the presidential airplane prior to landing at Halim Perdanakusuma airport here on Sunday.
The president and his entourage have just completed the overseas working visits by attending the APEC Forum in Beijing, China, on Nov. 10-11; the 25th ASEAN Summit and the Ninth East Asian Summit (EAS) in Myanmar on Nov. 12-13; and the G20 Summit in Brisbane, Australia, on Nov. 15-16, 2014.
According to him, the government has a great work in the future both in financial management and the future of economic development.
The President also explained that he used the forums to convey that developing countries are given a space so that they are not harmed.
"The problem is that we are harmed but they get profit. The national interest remains the key issue," the president pointed out.
Jokowi further said the results of visiting the three countries will be followed up by the related cabinet ministers, so it does not stop at the level of discussions but should be realized.
The results of discussion which can be followed up for instance cooperation on the maritime axis and the automotive fields, the head of state noted. (WDY)
