Jakarta (Antara Bali) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono at Merdeka Palace on Friday afternoon is scheduled to receive his Timor Leste counterpart Taur Matan Ruak who is on a state visit to Indonesia.
In the company of First Lady Ani Yudhoyono, the head of state will receive the Timor Leste president and First Lady Isabel da Costa at 3.30 pm on Friday.
Presidential special staff for international relations Teuku Faizasyah said the state visit to Indonesia by President Taur Matan Ruak was his first overseas trip since he was inaugurated as Timor Leste president on April 6, 2012.
"President Yudhoyono will receive his Timor Leste counterpart for a bilateral meeting expected to further strengthen the two countries bilateral relations which have so far been maintained very well," Faizasyah said.
He noted that the improvement of bilateral relations were marked with the intensity of trade between Indonesia and Timor Leste in the past few years.
Trade volume between the two countries during 2008-2012 period rose by 27.68 percent while the trade value in 2011-2012 period increased from US$221.5 million to US$258.8 million. (*/DWA)
