"The number of Australian tourists rose 0.46 percent from 119,054 in the same period last year," head of the statistics office I Gede Suarsa said here on Sunday.
With the figure, Australia led the top ten source countries of foreign tourist arrivals in the resort island in January and February, he said.
Most of the Australian tourists came to Bali via Ngurah Rai Airport by direct flights from their country, he said.
"Only 1,146 of them came to Bali by sea and most of them traveled by cruise liners," he said.
More and more Australians have visited Bali which they saw as their "second homes". As a result, Australia contributed more than a one-fourth of the overall tourist arrivals in Bali, he said. (*/DWA)
