Jakarta (Antaranews Bali)- President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) visited Vice President M. Jusuf Kalla at the vice presidential office, located next to the Presidential Palace, here, Thursday.
Kalla greeted Jokowi, who arrived aboard a golf cart, at his office door.
They shook hands and went inside the office for a meeting.
Meanwhile, Kalla`s agenda on Thursday morning included a meeting with members of the Bureaucratic Reform Advisory Council at the vice presidential office.
Earlier, Kalla had received Chairman of Golkar Party Airlangga Hartarto, concurrently Indonesia`s industry minister, at the vice presidential residence.
After the meeting on Thursday morning, Hartarto noted that Kalla, the former chairman of Golkar, had given several directives.
Kalla said Golkar has some 18 million constituents, with a large coverage.
"Hence, their votes must be consolidated, and Golkar must be solid and focused on winning the legislative elections (next year)," Hartarto said.
Indonesia will organize simultaneous presidential and legislative elections on April 17, 2019.
The incumbent president is seeking a second term in the 2019 presidential election.
Meanwhile, Jokowi is expected to have a national campaign team, with 10 directorates, for the 2019 presidential election.
"The 10 directorates, under the structure of the winning secretariat, are part of the national campaign team, formulated by the secretary generals of political parties that are members of the coalition," Johny G. Plate, secretary general of the National Democratic (Nasdem) party, stated following a meeting attended by nine secretary generals of political parties joining the coalition supporting Jokowi`s presidential candidacy, here, Monday evening.
The nine secretary generals attending the meeting were Hasto Kristiyanto from the PDIP, Lodewijk Freiderich Paulus from Golkar, Johny G. Plate from Nasdem, Hery Lontung from Hanura, Arsul Sani from PPP, Abdul Kadir Karding from PKB, Ahmad Rofik from Perindo, Raja Juli Antoni from PSI, and Verry Surya Hendrawan from the PKPI. (WDY)
