Indonesia's Cargo Ship Capsizes In Malacca Strait

Kuala Lumpur (Antara Bali) - MV Undine, an Indonesia's cargo ship with 15 crew members was reported to have capsized in Malacca Strait, some 11 mile from Tanjung Kling on Wednesday.

Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency  (MMEA) Director Datuk Zulkifili Abu Bakar said 13 crew members of the ill-fated ship had been rescued while two others remained missing.

"Our command center in Johor received information from the Maritime Agency about the sinking of Indonesia's cargo ship, and our rescue team has rescued 13 crew members, but two are still missing," Abu Bakar remarked.

He the the ship the 53-meter-long ship sank for alleged leakage and bad weather.

"We are still investigating the cause of the accident, while our rescue team continues to search for the two missing crew members," he added.

Muhammad Abduh, the Transportation Attaché of Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, said it was a pure accident experienced by  MV Undine in Malacca Strait near Tanjung Kling. (WDY)
