Nusa Dua (Antara Bali) - The Indonesian military will deploy six vessels,
including two warships, to secure Nusa Dua waters during the visit of
King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to the resort island.
"We have prepared six vessels; two of them are warships, while
others are smaller ships," Bali Regional Military Commander Major
General Kustanto Widiatmoko said here, Friday.
The security in the waters will be stepped up as the King and his
entourage will be staying in a hotel facing the Indian Ocean, he
revealed.
"The security measures will be employed within a mile around the beach," he added.
Even though the royal visit is meant to be for a vacation, tight security measures will be taken, Kustanto remarked.
"It is our task to ensure security, but we have to be careful that we do not disturb our guests," Kustanto stated.
A team from the Saudi Arabian government has arrived in Bali to coordinate with the local authority on security.
King Salman will be on a holiday with an entourage of around 1,500
persons, including the crown princes, 25 princes, 14 minister and state
officials for six days in Bali.
However, the local authority in Bali has not yet got information about the King`s itinerary on the resort island.
The King will arrive at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport on Saturday at 5:45 local time (GMT+8).
The airport will close flights to and from Bali for at least 45
minutes to prepare for the landing of King Salman`s plane on the island.(WDY)
