Padang (Antara Bali) - The younger generation in Indonesia has to be well-trained in disaster management, to reduce the number of victims, said Hatta Rajasa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Rajawali Nusantara Save and Rescue, on Sunday.
"The younger generation in all the provinces across the country must be well-trained in rescue and disaster management," said the Indonesian coordinating minister for the economy.
According to him, the Rajawali SAR Nusantara, under the management of the Indonesian National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas), should provide ample training to the younger citizens so that they have the right skills for a rescue operation.
Rajasa also said that the younger generation should realise that a powerful earthquake can trigger a massive tsunami.
According to Rajasa, the Rajawali SAR Nusantara will continuously conduct trainings so that people can respond effectively when a disaster strikes, ultimately, reducing the number of casualties.(*/DWA/IGT)
